This weeks story is about a grandfather. If you would like to have your grandfather come have lunch with you or read to our class, that would be great.
The story also takes place in Japan. If you have anything interesting to bring in and share with the class about Japan, please do so.
Thanks to our dads who signed up to be Watchdogs here at school. Elliotts dad, Rachels dad, Daemuns dad, Chris Risner ( Bryce ), and Emmas dad. Please let me know if we have left anyone out.

9:15-10:45 language arts
10:45-11:15 continue language arts or math
11:15-12:10 MAPS
12:20-12:50 lunch
12:55-1:15 recess
1:15-2:15 math
2:15-3:00 social studies
3:00-4:00 science
This will be a 4 day week due to the Labor Day Holiday on Monday.
Thanks to Mrs. Thompson for coming in and doing a science activity which involved building an animal cell with vanilla pudding and candy!

This week we will be studying the following:
Reading: We will be reading the story in class entitled Grandfathers Journey. There will be a test over the vocabulary words and the story on Friday. The vocabulary words are found in the students workbook on page 22. Please reread the story at home. The skill for the week will be multi-meaning words. Vocabulary words for the week are:

Social studies: Chapter 2
Science: A38 and following / quiz this week over all of the parts of the plant and animal cell found on pages A8 and A9. You just have to label the parts, not list all of the functions.
Math-adding and subtracting whole numbers and decimals / estimation/ timed test over multiplication 2s, 3s
Homework:
Monday: No school
Tuesday: Math worksheet, study for reading, spelling, and science cells quiz ( pages A8 and A9)
Wednesday: Study for reading, spelling, and science quiz, reread the story, Grandfathers Journey
Thursday: Reading worksheet, study for science quiz, reading test, and spelling test
