In music our students sing, play instruments, enjoy movement activities, and much more. We follow the Shelby County Schools curriculum guide for music and the National Standards for music. These standards include:
1. Singing alone and with others a varied repertoire
    of music.
2. Performing on instruments alone and with others
    a varied repertoire.
3. Improvising melodies, variations and
    accompaniments.
4. Composing and arranging music with specified
    guidelines.
5. Reading and notating music.
6. Listening to, analyzing, and describing music.
7. Evaluating music and music performances.
8. Understanding the relationship between music,
    the other arts, and other disciplines.
9. Understanding music in relation to history and
    culture.
This year fourth grade will again learn to play the recorder and third grade will perform a concert for the school in May. We also have a guitar class for 4th and 5th grade students before school.
